Another busy week for us. We picked up his braces on Wednesday and we've started to work with him standing and walking. We need to get him walking independently before the fall school year starts and he starts at Early Education.

We had a meeting with FirstSteps and Early Education this week. He was evaluated in 5 areas. He will turn 3 next month. His evaluation results are: Cognition: 15 months, Communication: 10 months, Social-emotional: 16 months, Physical Development: 11 months and Adaptive Behavior: 19 months. So we have a bit to go to get him caught up to his peers. Our first therapy session is this Tuesday.

He is precious. Love will bring him far!!!!
ReplyDeleteDrake is adorable! If you don't mind me asking, what is his special need? Is there one main diagnosis with his other "issues" as symptoms, or is it just a smattering of "random" issues?
ReplyDeleteHe was born premature and spent some time in the hospital after he was born. He had respiratory distress syndrome and bilateral pneumonia. He has "overall global delay" meaning all areas including physical and educational are delayed. He appears to just "be behind" in education and has learned more vocabulary since we picked him up. He has Hypotonia(low muscle tone) and pronation of his feet which is why he is not yet walking on his own. Beyond Hypotonia and his foot pronation he doesn't have any other disorder or diagnosis.
